Security Protocols

Security Protocols at

Trackside Teen Center

Security and safety at Trackside are major priorities for us. We want to ensure that our visitors, staff and volunteers are enjoying events in an alcohol free, substance free and secure setting. To this end, we have adopted the following protocols for our major events:

 · Prior to entry, teens will be placed into two lines and randomly administered a breathalyzer test, as in every “X” teen. The random number will change for each event.

· In addition, students who appear to be intoxicated by smelling of alcohol, stumbling or slurring of words, or otherwise exhibiting erratic behavior, will also be administered a breathalyzer test.

· If the student fails the test (>.02 BAC), they will be escorted inside the building where a staff person will call their parents; if parents cannot be reached, the student remains with an adult chaperone until a parent, guardian, or responsible adult over the age of 25 who is known to the student is contacted. If, in the judgment of the Wilton Police Officer on duty and the Trackside staff a student is exhibiting symptoms of alcohol poisoning and is in physical danger, Emergency Medical Services will be contacted as well.

· Upon passing the breathalyzer test, students proceed into the next step of security. For males, this is pockets being patted down and for females, purses/bags to be searched, and may be checked into a secure area. If a student is found in possession of alcohol or any other illegal substance, they will be immediately turned over to the police officer on duty.

· All students will be expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner prior to and upon entry to Trackside. All visitors are subject to and agree to abide by the Trackside Code of Conduct. Violations of the Code of Conduct may result in expulsion from the event.

· There is no re-entry permitted!

· These protocols are subject to review and change by Trackside.

In addition, Trackside maintains a police and adult presence at our major events. We implement a 1:30 adult to teen ratio for ALL events.

If you have any questions or comments about these procedures, or are interested in volunteering to be an adult chaperone, please contact us at (203) 834-2888 or info@trackside.org
