Join WHS student's Justin and Sophia, our talented creative writing team, every week at Trackside for some fun and creativity. They will take you on a wonderful journey into the world of writing with no boundaries. Bring your best ideas and get a little help putting it to paper.

Chess Challenges

Join Teddy, one or our best WHS teen facilitators, as he guides you through the plays and strategies of Chess! All experience levels are welcome. Take a break from school but still develop your brain while having fun with others!

Among Us

Among Us is a Weekly registration; this gives you the opportunity to make new friends while hanging out with the old ones! Play Among Us in a private room and chat in person (rather than online) to try to identify the imposter being becoming a ghost!

VIRTUAL
MS Quizbowl Club

Come join our Wilton high School student coaches Lukas, Vihan, Josh, Alexa, and Saniya VIRTUALLY for this challenging and fun club.

Quiz Bowl is a game in which two teams compete head-to-head to answer questions from all areas of knowledge,

Meetings will take place virtually on Wednesdays and Fridays. Our goal is to have our student team participate in area NAQT competitions!

VENT...
(Special Time)

Trackside is happy to provide two unique opportunities for kids to come together in a low-key, comfortable environment and VENT! These are "guided" conversations, facilitated by teens which will allow kids the chance to kvetch, complain, pontificate.... VENT about whatever issues they are having, big or small.

The Wednesday group will be more organic with students choosing the topic to VENT about. while the Friday group will be addressing how to successfully navigate life with a special needs sibling.

Sessions will be student led and facilitated by Trackside staff or guest speakers when beneficial.

Minecraft Club

Join Jordon, Trackside's High School gaming Guru, and Abby his Middle School Minecraft sidekick as they take you through the tunnels of Minecraft together as a group!

Back by popular demand!!!! PrePlay is once again being offered at Trackside! This improv class is optional pre-cursor to FreePlay at the High School. Middle school kids get the chance to peek behind the curtain and see how things are done when improving at the higher level!

Join WHS students Jake and Mairead as they take you down the creative road to improv. Learn to think on your feet and laugh while you go.

Open exclusively to our High School Gamers, this club will focus on improving skills and sharing knowledge to improve skills on popular current and retro gaming systems.

SibSquad

Come join WHS Junior and rising Freshman, respectively, Daniella and her brother Brian as they help navigate the obstacles one might endure while supporting a sibling with special needs.

The group is specifically designed for siblings of those with special needs to come together, spread positivity, and give back to the community through various activities, while relating to and supporting one another.

Open Gamers

Open to all Middle School and High School Gamers, come out and enjoy playing Trackside's top games on Nintendo Switch, Wii and PS4 (No VR) each Friday afternoon. Learn and challenge our High School Mentors and compete in tournaments (included in fee) throughout the program session for bragging rights and prizes!

Student Advisory BoardS

Hearing what’s important and of interest to
the teens, directly from them is one of the
core beliefs of Trackside. Separate Middle School and High School Advisory Groups help ensure we have a blend of programs and are helping our teens grow from participants to mentors to leaders in areas they love most. Interested teens work together with Trackside Staff to bring the ideas to life.

Select HS students who have been on the Advisory Board for multiple years may also offered positions on Trackside's Executive Board. It is a wonderful growth and leadership opportunity for those who remain invested in Trackside through their MS and HS Years.

A continuation of our highly successful program led by High School runner Dhruv Rokham and his teammates. Students will be led in stretching exercises, running games, and runs on the Norwalk River Valley Trail near Trackside. This is a wonderful way to stay active and be out in nature. No prior running experience is necessary.
Runs will occur on local trails, sidewalks and fields, no further than 1 mile from Trackside.

virtual MATH COUNTS/AMC-8

Interested in math competitions? Join the MathCounts/AMC 8 Club. This club will help students prepare for AMC 8 competition in November as well as the MathCounts competition throughout the year. All competitions will be held online for the foreseeable future, except that of the national level of MathCounts.
All meetings will be held on Zoom.

Open to both MS and HS students, Trackside's D&D Club is led by a Dungeon Master. The club meets weekly to learn and develop their D&D skills and knowledge, diving deeper and deeper into the game.

With enough interest, we will break into 2 clubs based on skill level and experience.

D&D is hugely popular on college campuses and in social circles young and old... this is definitely a life long game to be played and loved!

PrePlay Improv

Led by 2 talented WHS writers, this club will explore the written word, captivating readers by bringing stories to life with flair, finesse and each writer's unique style.

Green Teens

Coming in the Spring

In collaboration with the Wilton
Garden Club and Wilton Youth Council, Trackside is excited each spring to kick off our Green Teens Program where teens prep, plant, tend and harvest our Neighborhood garden. All produce is donated to the Wilton Food Pantry.

A Wilton native, Ryan has been supporting Trackside for over 4 years, supervising after school programs, running Snackside Cafe and assitsing with special events. Ryan is the face that most of our teens know and interact with as they see him every day when they arrive at Trackside. When not supporting our teens, Ryan is an highly talented Freelance Digital Artist.

What's Happening Each Month:

Trackside is open for after-school drop in hours until 6pm.
We are continuously monitoring the situation in town and are currently following Wilton's Parks and Rec Department decisions and plans for after school and youth programs.
In alignment with the Wilton Public Schools, we have increased the frequency of sanitization and disinfection throughout the facility. We have also adjusted some of our activities, including halting the use of our VR equipment which contacts the face.

Message from the Director

As we celebrate our 15th year being open to the Teens, Trackside, one of Wilton’s top 30 treasures is not slowing down. This we are are focused more than ever on shifting and evolving to serve the ever-changing needs of our teens and community.

Our mission is to promote healthy, drug and alcohol free, development for teens and pre-teens while they are at a vulnerable point in their lives. At Trackside, teens can engage in a wide variety of activities free of charge. For high school students, this may be on Friday and Saturday nights when they may otherwise be tempted by peer pressure and for our middle school students, it is often after school where rather than be home alone, they have a place to go where they can engage in a wide variety of activities while gaining independence, building self-esteem and developing new interests and friendships.

We cannot continue to support our teens in our unique and flexible way without raising the funds needed to evolve our programs and our facility. We are currently working to refresh and update Trackside to ensure we can continue to serve our mission of being the place teens can call their own. As a private 501(c)(3) non-profit, Trackside receives a portion of our annual staffing costs from the Town of Wilton and must raise the majority of our funding needs to cover our operating expenses, facility upkeep and teen programming expenses. As such, we are actively raising funds and donations to not only deliver innovative programs, but to help upgrade our facility to support the teens and enable us to generate more, consistent rental income, a key source of operations and programming revenue. Each donation ensures that we are here making a meaningful difference for today’s generation as well as tomorrow’s generations of Wilton teens.
